LLYN BRENIG FISHING REPORT 21.08.06 |
|
Despite these conditions the surface water temperature remains at what must be considered ideal for top of the water sport; at present this is 17.5 degrees centigrade, this is probably the main factor when considering the average bag per angler visit on returns submitted over the period. This presently stands at a more than respectful 4.6 fish, an average any major water would be more than happy to report. Bank hotspots for the past week have been centred mainly around the Brenig Arm, Hafod Lom Woods and Tower Bay with patterns including Dabblers, Buzzers and various Dry Flies proving most successful for best results. Boat hotspots include Tower Bay, North Arm and along Hafod Lom Woods with nymph patterns, sedge patterns, booby's and dries producing some of the best bags. Nick Brown of Congleton recorded the best fish landed by an angler visiting the Reservoir during the past seven days, this was a 5lb Rainbow taken whilst fishing the Fly from the bank.
