Companies from around the world are already registering for EFTTEX 2009 – Europe’s largest fishing tackle trade show – which will be held in Hungary for the first time next year.
The Hungexpo exhibition centre in Budapest will host the 28th EFTTEX show on June 12-14.
Covering an entire area of 36 hectares, with more than 100,000 m2 of exhibition and free space, Hungexpo is run by Generale Location, one of France’s top exhibition companies, who had previously organised the EFTTEX 2000 show in Lyon.
Jean Claude Bel, EFTTA CEO said: “We are very excited at the prospect of taking our show to Budapest for the first time and I’m sure both the exhibitors and visitors will thoroughly enjoy the city.
“Taking EFTTEX to Hungary gives our members the opportunity to network with a wider audience in Eastern Europe.”
Budapest is reputed to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The capital of Hungary, the city was officially created in 1873 when the first permanent bridge over the River Danube was built, linking the original cities of Buda, Pest and Obuda. The Chain Bridge is still one of the most recognisable symbols in the city.
Today Budapest comprises of 23 districts and much rebuilding has taken place both since the 2nd World War and the 1956 uprising. It is often referred to as the ‘Queen of the Danube’ or the ‘City of spas’ after the dozen or so thermal bath complexes served by over a hundred natural thermal springs.
Anyone visiting the show will be able to find plenty of quality restaurants in which to sample the well known Hungarian cuisine, Goulash, which is, contrary to popular belief, not a stew but a thick soup.
Budapest was also once famous for its coffee houses and many can still be found – along with great cake shops – throughout the city. Hungary also produces around 420 million litres of wine and Budapest is renowned for its sizeable storage and bottling facilities.
Budapest (Ferihegy) International Airport is ten miles south-east of the city centre and has two terminals: Once in Budapest the network of public transport services includes buses, trolleybuses, trams, underground trains (Metró) and over ground suburban trains (HÉV). Buses, trams and trolleybuses run daily from 04:30 until 23:00.
