The first Fishing For Everyone (FFE) Ladies Fishing Club meeting of 2009 took place on Saturday 28th March.
The event was held at Chatton trout Fishery, Chatton in Northumberland from 10am – 4pm and saw ten ladies, including three new members, brave gale force winds and torrential rain to attend.
Hardy & Greys Ltd Game Product Assistant and England angler, Scott Nellins gave a highly successful and informative presentation based on ‘Small Stillwater Tactics’ before the ladies headed out fishing, with Lucy showing the new members the basics of casting, retrieving and hooking a fish.
The day ended back at the lodge with five fish caught in total and the ladies being shown how to gut and fillet a fish.
The next Ladies Fishing Club meeting will be held at Whiney Loch, Coldingham on Sunday April 19th. Any ladies interested in joining the Club contact Lucy Bowden, firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.fishingforeveryone.com for more information – no experience necessary.
This is the second season of the Fishing For Everyone Ladies Fishing Club and it is growing in numbers.

"Given that the FFE Club was only founded in April 2008 and the fact that we now have over 100 members is amazing! Obviously not all of the members attend every event but to have such a high number of ladies interested in the sport is fantastic.
"For the 2009 season I would like to welcome any ladies interested in giving fly fishing ago to come along to one of our events and give it a try. Fishing equipment is available if required and experience is not necessary. I look forward to welcoming you."
