Environment Agency News Release

A Foot and Mouth Disease Protection Zone has been set up which covers the River Thames from Runnymede to Walton.

Footpaths, including the Thames Path National Trail between Dumsey Meads and Chertsey Bridge, have been closed.  Also, stopping or mooring boats on this stretch of the river is strictly prohibited until further notice.

The river is still open for through navigation.  Should you wish to moor up during passage, avoid the above stretch, and stop in an urban area if possible. Please avoid visiting agricultural or open land if you disembark. You are asked to keep any pets on your boat when travelling through these reaches.
