Chub Academy member John Patterson has landed a superb 48lb PB Common Carp.

Fishing on private syndicate, John caught the fish 2 feet from the bank using a double chum mixer.

John said; “With a bit of care and luck I managed to lower my hook bait into position and she came up and took it straight away. The fight was heart in the mouth stuff, I ended up having to jump into the lake to get a better angle whilst playing the fish, after five minutes I had her in the net “

John caught the fish using Greys X - Flite Plus 3lb rods.
