ISHERWOOD REQUESTS ANSWERS TO WELSH FISHERIES

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
Mark Isherwood, Assembly Member for North Wales has asked the Welsh Assembly Government for a statement on the enforcement policy for the protection of Welsh fisheries.

After being denied a statement by the Minister, Mark said "I am advised that the Environment Agency has already concluded the review and made its recommendations to the Minister for Rural Affairs.

I am further advised that she has already responded to them and asked them to go for the 'no cost, low cost' option.

She has also asked them to quantify the scale of the poaching.

It is therefore not acceptable that the Minister has still not seen fit to report any of this to the Assembly".
