The Fishing For Everyone Ladies Fishing Club celebrated the end of the fishing season in style at their annual dinner held at Blackmores of Alnwick on Saturday 21st November.
This is the only event currently held by the club throughout the year where the ladies are able to ditch their waterproofs and wellies for the more favourable ‘glam look.’
A delicious three course lunch followed by a raffle to raise money for the Club were enjoyed by all attendees as they celebrated a very successful years fishing.
Club Founder and Chairman, Lucy Bowden said;
“The Club have had a fantastic year and it is sad that it has come to an end however, I am really looking forward to 2010 as we have lots of exciting events to come including the chance to try many other fishing disciplines from trout to salmon, pike to grayling!
“It is great to now have a Club Committee as their help and support for the Club going forward will be invaluable and I’d like to thank all of the ladies for all of their help and support throughout the year.
“The Club would also like to thank all of those who kindly donated items for the raffle, including Blackmores of Alnwick, Trout & Salmon magazine and Gray’s of Warkworth.”
The season isn’t quite over yet for the Fishing For Everyone Ladies Fishing Club as they have their final event planned for Sunday 29th November at Sweethope Lough where they will be trying their hand at pike fishing with world famous angler, Nige Williams.
The girls will be holding their first event of 2010 on 16th January where they will be grayling fishing at Tweedswood on the river Tweed.
