Moribund Carp In The Thames

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

This in recently from the Environment Agency:

"Moribund fish found by The Environment Agency in the River Thames at Romney yesterday, Wednesday 5th September 2007, have been taken live to our National Fisheries Laboratory at Brampton for examination.

It is believed that these specimens are linked to reports of other dead carp found further downstream in recent weeks.

We hope these live fish will shed light on the cause of these deaths. Results of the tests will be released as soon as possible."

Picture shows waterways operations team leader Adrian Bicknell with one of the moribund specimens.
