Wellsfield Trout Fishery­ Weekly Report for Week Ending: 26/10/08

The Wellsfield Kingfishers Annual Juniors Open Competition was held on Saturday.  The 2008 Champion was S. Horner (Denny), Runner Up was M. Mullen (Dennyloanhead) and 3rd place was R. Buchanan (Bonnybridge).  Heaviest Fish went to J. Willis (Falkirk).  

The fishery lochans are all fishing very well at the moment due to the lowering water temperatures for the time of year.  All 3 lochans have a large stock of trout in them, enabling many anglers to catch their fish limits.

TWO double figure specimens were caught this week: Mr Morrison (Kirkintilloch) caught a 13lb 2oz rainbow from the top fly pond in his 4 for 25lb, and Mr Richardson (Stirling) caught a 10lb 4oz rainbow from the bait pond using spinners in his 3 for 17lb.

ONE Yellow £50 Prize tagged trout were caught this week by Mr Carter (Falkirk).

Best flies this week: Silver Humungus, Hot Head Damsel, Yellow Dancer, Buzzers fished on a floating or intermediate line.  Best bait: Powerbait, Maggots and Tobys / Mepps Spinners.
