With bloodworm not allowed on this midweek qualifier, hempseed proved the most successful bait choice on the day. Coming out on top was Evesham regular Ian Shepherd, who took a 12-7-0 net of roach to guarantee himself a place in the Wychavon final. Ian fished hemp at 13 metres, and took roach to 1lb as a part of his haul.

In second was Andy Bruton. Andy caught quality roach on hempseed from peg 25. Kamasan Starlets ace Hadrian Whittle took third spot, with a 6-4-0 net from fancied peg 30. Again, Hadrian found good sized roach on hempseed late on in the match.
