Anglers' Net - The UK Online Fishing Magazine: Quest Baits Glug, Dip, Pop-Up And Hookbait Combination Set Quest Baits Glug, Dip, Pop-Up And Hookbait Combination Set ================================================================================ Elton Murphy on 08 May, 2008 07:55:00 I received a press release about the Quest Baits Combination Sets a while back. In fact, you can see it by clicking here. At the time, it seemed like a simple, yet effective idea. Not only was it a way of keeping the smell of leaky pots away from the rest of your tackle, but it also looked like a way of keeping everything 'tidy'. It's funny most of the carp anglers I know are men and, being men, I bet that if you asked their partners, they're scruffy so-and-so's around the house. However, give them a bivvy and they suddenly become bivvyproud (that's like being houseproud, but with canvas!). I instantly knew that these tubes would be a hit with them. I took the Liver B8 Combination Set with me on a recent trip and it dawned on me that it served another purpose; not only did it keep my tackle bag clean, but it meant that I had all my matching baits in one place. No rummaging around in the bag! And, to be honest, rummaging around in the bag doesn't always work I'm forever leaving the one thing I need on the day on a shelf at home! With the matching dip, glug, pop-ups and hard hookbaits in one tube, even I can't get it wrong. So, my advice would be to buy the £12.99 option that contains all the matching pieces to your hookbait. That way, you'll always have a pretty complete bait solution right at your fingertips. It's pointless me writing an essay on this product. When all's said and done, it's a tube with some pots in. Even Oscar Wilde would have difficulty embelishing that. However, it is one of those simple little creations that makes life a little bit easier, so I take my hat off to Quest Baits for coming up with it! The only 'problem' I could find (and it is a small problem), is that sometimes, if you ram the lid on too quickly, the air pressure inside forces off the other end of the tube. This was easily fixed with a dab of Superglue. It wouldn't have been a problem at all, had I not been so heavy-handed. But hey, I am supposed to find faults, even when faults don't really exist! You can order these tube / pot combos from www.QuestBaits.com. The empty version is £5.49, but my money would be on the 'full' versions being the ones that Quest sell most of, at £12.99.
