Floater Trick

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Carp ejecting your chum mixer floaters before you can set the hook?

Mount two mixers on a short piece of tube. The choice of tube is quite important, as you will see.

Slide the tube-mounted mixers on to your hook length and tie on the heaviest hook that the bait will support. Slide the tube back and push lightly on to the hook knot.

If you have got it all balanced right and sharpened the hook properly you are in business.

When the carp tries to eject the hook the mixer slides up the hook length and the sharp, heavy hook pricks in, giving you time to set it.

This really works. If it does not, play around with the hook model/size and the type of tube.
