For many anglers, carp care starts and finishes with an unhooking mat, but there’s so much more to it than that. In a catch and release environment where bigger fish are becoming more and more sought after, it’s vital we do all we can to look after these fantastic specimens each time they grace the bank.
Carp can pick up all kinds of knocks and scrapes in their day to day life, both in and out of the water, so by carrying a simple care kit we can help ensure that they remain as fit and healthy as possible, thus increasing the chances of them turning into fine old specimens.
This Korda Carp Care Kit has been specially designed for use on carp and other coarse fish. The kit contains two liquids identified by the colour blue and yellow. The blue liquid is for use on the mouth area only and the yellow liquid is for use on the body and fins. Both should be used by first drying the area and then applying the liquid by squeezing some on a cotton bud and rubbing in to the wound.
The kit comes in a handy zip up pouch that can be kept in your tackle bag and inside you’ll also find a helpful carp care reference guide.
