Chris Woodrow is 34 years old, and has been an avid fisherman from a very young age. With his Woolworth's rod and reel fishing starter pack, many of his early angling years were spent in pursuit of the Perch at South Weald Park in Brentwood, Essex.
It was here that he witnessed his first carp and from then on was 'hooked' on trying to catch some of the lakes larger residents. It wasn't too long before Chris was fishing solely for Carp, landing most of the Wealds largest residents.
Carp Fishing has been Chris's passion for the last 18 years, he has fished extensively on some of the biggest waters across Europe and many other venues throughout the World. Chris's captures, pioneering escapades and experiences have been well documented in the angling press / monthly magazines since the late eighties and in the last couple of years on some of the most popular carp fishing websites, including Anglersnet.
Chris is a member of the British Carp Study Group, Carp Society and Specialist Anglers alliance. He has presented slide shows for various groups, including the Carp Society's Dunstable winter Conference.
Aswell as several Carp over 50lbs, Chris has landed Mahseer in India to 75lbs, Nile Perch in Egypt to 64lbs and an assortment of big game fish, such as a 125lb Sailfish in El Salvador.
Chris's father owns the successful tackle shop 'Essex Angling' in Elm Park, Essex hence, the nickname Chris has been branded with 'The Essex Man' !
