Dave Barham

Dave Barham has been a keen sea angler for over 23 years.Dave Barham

He worked for Improve Your Sea Angling magazine for 4 years, and was made deputy editor for the last year-and-a-half, before Emap decided to reduce the size of their angling portfolio.

He is currently the deputy editor of Total Sea Fishing magazine published by David Hall each month. David Hall produce a number of fishing magazines, so it may be worth having a browse around their site when you've finished here!

A well-known name in the tackle trade, Dave has specialised in reviewing tackle for the last four years and there isn't much out there that would baffle him!

He considers his current personal best (PB) sea fish to be a 74lb Conger (boat) and a 14lb Smooth hound (shore), although he has caught plenty of large fish over the years!

Also a keen Carp angler for the past 13 years, Dave field-tests baits for Kevin Nash - as you may have read in his mother's articles. (His mother is Rosie Barham, in case you were wondering!).

He has caught over 100 twenties up to 29lb 12oz but hasn't yet cracked the thirty mark - despite two visits to France. This is a fact that will, no doubt, be changed whilst Dave is writing for Anglers' Net. We look forward to being the first to announce it when Dave breaks that magical thirty mark!

An experimental angler, Dave has recently been trying out a number of ultra-light boat rods for species such as Smoothhounds, Cod and Pollack....more on this to come in future articles.
