Jim Gibbinson has written eight angling books, five of them on carp fishing. In addition he contributes to most UK angling publications and also to specialist magazines in France, Germany, Italy and Poland. His preferred waters are gravel pits; his favourite species are carp and tench. He is, however, something of an all-rounder and has frequently taken 'time out' from carp and tench to fish for pike, bream, roach, chub, barbel and reservoir trout. He also enjoys sea fishing - particularly from the shore for cod and bass. He is married to Italian born Maria, has two sons and lives in Kent. By profession he is a schoolteacher and also has consultancies with Simpson's of Turnford and Kevin Nash. Jim's latest book, Gravel Pit Carp, will be reviewed on Anglers' Net shortly by Peter Springate. Steve Burke pinched the review copy as soon as it arrived and reckoned that it is the best carp book that he has ever read. Steve's not usually a carp angler, but on reading Gravel Pit Carp immediately wanted to go carp fishing - quite a recommendation to those who know Steve! Jim's books are available online - please use the following links to buy Jim Gibbinson - Carp Sense, Tench or Modern Specimen Hunting. |
