Martin Salisbury is a keen writer of articles and books and has a University Diploma in Newspaper Journalism. He started his ‘career’ by writing critical and humorous articles that were regularly published in ‘fanzines’. Martin soon progressed to writing for the Preston North End Matchday Programme. After a few years of writing match reports and interviewing players and officials at the club Martin decided to write a book on fishing.

As a general coarse angler, with a slant towards carp (and increasingly pike), Martin wrote a guide to Coarse Fisheries In Lancashire, his home county. Martin edited and published the 36-page guide himself. After selling around 1,000 copies through his local tackle shops, Martin secured a publishing contract with Sigma Press.

The second edition, entitled Where To Fish: Lancashire Coarse Fisheries, details 113 coarse venues within the current Lancashire boundary. It covers 105 stillwaters, 5 rivers and 3 canals. In between his frequent fishing trips, Martin is currently training to be a solicitor and has recently become a contributor to Improve Your Coarse Fishing magazine, adding valuable input to their 'Where To Fish' section..
