As someone who likes to go sea fishing, I often wear a flotation suit and, to be honest, it’s always surprised me that there aren’t more coarse fishermen (and women) wearing one-piece suits. When it comes to extreme cold, I don’t think you can beat them, especially when it’s windy.
One of the good things about a one-piece fishing suit is that you can carry it around the lake with the rest of your gear and then quickly put it on once you’re wherever you need to be. That way, you don’t get too hot and sweaty when you’re putting your muscles to use, but get the instant benefit of the suit as soon as you put it on.
We spotted this Carptrix suit on eBay recently and, at just £29.99 + postage, it looks like a real bargain. The seller claims that it is both windproof and waterproof and has the following features:
- Heavy duty quited lining
- Two handwarmer pockets and one chest pocket
- Zipped detatchable hood with adjustable drawstring
- Double zipped front with velcro secured storm flaps
- Storm collar
- Extra long boot zips and velcro fastenings
- Elasticated waist with additional adjustable belt strap
- Storm proof velcro cuffs
Sizes available were Medium, right through to XXXL.
Quite a few had already been purchased and the seller has a 100% positive feedback rating. If I was looking for a new suit, that would make me feel pretty confident about this Carptrix one!
This isn’t a flotation suit, but I wouldn’t expect it to be at that price, but it does look to be a pretty useful fishing suit that will appeal to anglers not wanting to shell out a fortune on a ‘big brand’ name.
