Total protection for £60 – Review by Kenny Massey

The British weather being what it is, we all need to protect ourselves against the elements and that’s why I decided to buy this combo set. A wet angler, as the old saying goes, is a poor angler.

The price was the first thing that attracted me. To get a 50ins brolly AND jacket and trouser set for £60 was just too good a deal turn down. So I didn’t.

The size of the brolly was the first thing that impressed me. At 50ins, it’s comfortably big enough for me to sit under, together with all my sundries: bag, rod holdall, rucksuck etc. There’s nothing worse than returning home with completely sodden kit.

I am a carp/pleasure angler so the camo design style suited me (no garish colours!) and the multi-angle system means you can position it as you see fit.

100 per cent waterproof, the brolly is also light enough not to be a hindrance on journeys to and from the bank and also comes in its own storage bag.

The clothing is, if you like, added insurance against the wet. There are times when you have to come out from under your brolly and the jacket and trouser set ensure you keep dry during casting or playing fish.

Again, 100 per cent waterproof and lightweight to carry, the real plus with this kit is that it’s designed to go over your fleece and bottoms. The half zip jacket and long boot leg zips means everything can be put on at speed – and there’s no need to remove wellies or boots.

All in all, this is a great value combo – and essential in a country where rain is all too familiar!
