Ahhh… light nights spent lying around on grassy banks with out a thermal jacket in sight! Summer is on its way! No better time then to break out the floater gear and get catching off the top!

Many anglers like to use controller floats for surface fishing but a growing number are switching to bubble floats as you are able to add any amount of water to suit your exact casting range, and what’s more, sitting much shallower in the water they are often less likely to spook the fish and the weight of the water filled bubble can also aid the hooking properties. These inline bubble float controllers from Fox are just the job, and are available in four sizes; small, medium, large and extra large.

For those who prefer a traditional controller float, and I must admit, I’m one of them, check out these fantastic weighted controllers from ESP. The see through green plastic base aids camouflage when in the water whilst the bright orange tip sitting above the surface remains clearly visible from the bank.

The floats are available in 5, 10 or 15g to suit all casting ranges and I tend to keep some of each size handy so I am always able to cast over the showing fish before winding back into the feeding zone without spooking the fish.

Both types are available from Hooked Tackle & Bait and don’t forget, any purchases from this supplier help contribute to the upkeep of this website.
