Lightweight, affordable pole for commercial carp fishing and more…

In a word…VALUE
In either of its 11m or 12.5m variants, the Maver Jurassic Pole is a cut above the rest; a stunning lightweight pole with all the backbone required for commercial carping, yet with the perfect balance required for tackling lakes, canals and rivers – the complete package, you might say.

Maver Jurassic PoleProduct Review
The Maver Jurassic pole first appeared in 1996 and quickly became the weapon of choice for many anglers wanting a pole to handle the ever increasing size of carp in commercial fisheries. That said, it lacked a degree of finesse offered by other ‘all round’ poles, so many would have the Jurassic for carp backed up by another lighter pole for everything else.

The new model is much more suited to all round fishing, though still lends itself more to battling bigger fish and will handle double figure carp with relative ease, though perhaps now does away with the need to have another thinner walled pole at hand to tackle other species, as it’s lightweight design means it’s just as capable when used on canals, rivers or lakes, due to the fact it has a lower diameter than the original plus a bigger kit package.

Supplied at 12.5m with a match power kit housed inside as standard, the new Jurassic Carp has exceptional balance and weighs just 669g at 11m and only 994 at 12.5m. Supplied with Match Power kits, which offer improved balance compared to standard power kits without compromising on strength. Rated to a massive 20 elastic (which some commentators say sells the pole a little short as it’s capable of handling much more!) with Match Power Kits fitted and 10 elastics with match kits in place.

Verdict
In a time when we all have to make our money go that little bit further, the Maver Jurassic Pole is the ideal choice for those who like to tackle commercial carp waters but want something perfectly able to handle lighter aspects of pole fishing too. It’s the ideal model for club and open match anglers alike and if carp are your preferred species, then you really need look no further.

The only decision you need to make is whether you go for the 11m or 12.5m, but this will of course be down to personal choice based on intended use, though at just 669g at 11m and only 994 at 12.5m, you’re onto a winner either way.
