It’s something we all dread; catching the fish of a lifetime, only to find that your tackle isn’t up to the job.
To be honest, it’s usually a weak knot, the line itself or a rig component that goes first. Occasionally, a reel will disintegrate, but it’s rare for the rod itself to go ‘bang’!
