You may be aware that for quite a number of years we have been searching for a very high quality reel line, and now at long last the search is at an end!
KRYSTONITE is not just another good quality mono; no KRYSTONITE is an exceptional line with many unique characteristics.
Whatever makes a superb mono KRYSTONITE has it all.
A) Exceptionally low diameter allows a valuable increase in casting distance.
B) Guaranteed high knot strength for such a low diameter line. Line strength has been thoroughly tested and measured exclusively using the Palomar knot. (See knots)
C) Super limp, virtually no memory. Put it under slight tension, release it and it will hang straight down. This in turn greatly reduces line slap during casting.
D) Excellent stretch ratio. Not too much, and not too little.
The fluorocarbon coating is important and has made four major contributions.
1) Gives a tremendous boost to the copolymers already excellent abrasion resistance.
2) Transformed the finish of the line making it very smooth and slick to give a significant increase in casting distance.
3) Much lower visibility. The recipe of a clear translucent finish combined with such a low diameter gives the angler a far less spooky mono.
4) Reduction in buoyancy to aid sink rate. Once the surface tension has been broken KRYSTONITE will gently sink to the bottom for improved presentation.
Using sanding pads to test a line for its abrasion resistance can never be a true reflection of a lines ability to resist wear and tear. In order to arrive at the truth we insisted on real testing in real conditions over a long period of time.

KRYSTONITE has been extensively used and thoroughly tested over a three-year period in the toughest conditions possible to find…tropical shallow saltwater angling! The harsh conditions of this extreme environment cannot be overstated. The combinations of blazing sun, abrasive sand, corrosive salt, sharp coral, sea fans and all manner of underwater hazards will soon expose the limitations of any normal mono.
No line on earth will ever resist the cutting edge of coral not even our famous Ton-up, coral will even cut through wire. But out of all of the mono’s that were tested, and they included many well-known brands KRYSTONITE proved to be the best of all for its low diameter and all round ability. If KRYSTONITE can handle this type of fishing then it will easily cope with anything freshwater has to throw at it.
The abrasion resistance testing of the line was based on matching true diameters and not claimed breaking strains.
