Unhooking mats with foam filled walls are a big advancement in carp protection, and my original Carp Cot design was a big improvement on this theme.
Over time, however, the walls started folding over and collapsing, particularly half way along the sides where the mat was folded in half for easy carrying.
Gary Bayes and I set about resolving this problem with the ambition to make the ultimate carp care system. On our new design the corners and half way along the sides were split for easy storage but, most importantly, to prevent the foam walls from collapsing.
At these points Velcro sealing joints were introduced with stiffening rods to ensure the whole perimeter wall contained its rigidity.
We also added extra cushioning.
Now the walls sit upright and rigid, preventing any chance of a carp bursting out.
The internal deeply cushioned mat is removable for washing down and drying.
Flaps either end and centre seal over the top to keep the carp protected and in darkness whilst you get yourself organised for the photos.
The centre flap doubles up as a kneeling pad and we have fitted substantial carrying handles for two-up carrying of the monster back to the water’s edge.
Sorted - pucker! The Nash Carp Corral - the ultimate unhooking mat for carp caring whacker catchers!
