I always struggled with boots and suffered from cold feet in winter. No matter what I tried, with insulated socks etc. I could never get the warmth from wellies. The various types of moon boot I’ve owned have all proved to be a nightmare to walk in and with little grip you’re likely to break your neck on slippery banks.
So, I hit on the idea of a proper high-support, walking boot and then wondered how to insulate them. Then I came up with the removable lining idea and knew I’d really cracked it. I actually consider the liners to be the best bit. Laced-up with a toggle, they are a warm and cosy fit and make great bivvy boots - you can even keep them on in your sleeping bag. Your feet will always be warm and dry as they are breathable and wick the moisture away to the outside.
Boots by the side of the bed, opened up, ready for that screaming, midnight take. Jump in and hit it. Carp away! Like I said, you have a boot you can trek in and more importantly, with complete safety. A different way of looking at the problem of winter footwear, but the way to go! Wellies in the dustbin.
