Sonja brought me a Shakespeare travel rod today for Christmas
It is 6' 6" long and splits into 5 pieces. We just tried it out with a Shimano 5010 baitrunner on it, I set the drag and Sonja played the part of the fish biggrin.gif , it is a medium action rod and is oh so nice smile.gif 6 to 12lb line so it should handle 40lb fish no problem.
The reel is a bit big but I better not push my luck too far sad.gif

I did get some funny looks when we got to the till, tiny rod, spool of 30lb line, packets of 6/0 circle hooks, couple of little floats, pkt of 2/0 saltwater fly hooks.

No idea what I am going to catch but you lot will be the second ones to know.

Buzzing as I do before I head up to Davy and Linda to fish in Scotland.

Sorry, bit excited ohmy.gif
