Hi Yakity
You got out in the last couple of days? I had 11 bass in the boat yesterday off Lyme, all over size but mostly schoolies, I kept 2 for the Barbie! also had a whole bunch of mackerel (kept 2) and numerous gars and pollack, fished the 2 hrs up to high water at 7pm, beautiful evening with a gently southerly breeze keeping me on an even drift.... get out there now!

hi,
if your looking for bass then instead of lyme regis try sea town, its full of bass in that bay, because the sea bed has a few sort of craters where the fish like to hang around. you might have tryed it there already, but if not then give it go!!

A good fish is not necessarily a big fish. What makes a good fish, is something well proportioned and healthy looking.

Cheers Braderz, Ive fished there in the past and Golden cap but usually when Ive got a bit more time cos I launch at Lyme and my little dingy aint that fast! I may try it again but the whole east devon to dorset coast is good bassing territory at the moment its just a case of finding them when they're feeding! I went out on Sunday evening, but there was a gentle easterly (never good in my books)and I couldnt get past the pollack, there were millions of them! one was so keen on following my lure it leapt out of the water nearly at my eye level (6'!)and just missed landing the boat! Great sport but they were all on the small size so went back, I only managed one schoolie but had a great time. Its been a bit blowy since!

Hi Dan,

Sorry for the delay with reply.
Congrats on your Bass, nice one(or rather 11 )
We have been held back by the weather quite a bit with the Yaks.
But have had a bit of fun out there.
Hope to get out some more before the real chit hits us.
Keep it up .
