but I haven't seen them do anything I can't do.

Sean.
Whenever I've been to Florida, I've always bought copies of the Florida sportsman and other fishing magazines. They have certainly got themselves organised and have really done great things for recreational sea angling (RSA). The RSA industry is worth billions in the states and it's growing all the time. More and more anglers from the U.K are going to America to enjoy the first class fishing that they have to offer.

Anyone who doubts that banning gill nets in certain fisheries would make a huge difference to RSA, only need look at what's happened over there since 1995. They now have something special in the way of sea fishing and they will do everything they can to protect it. Their government also want to protect it and that's why RSA will be successful in their objections.

Until our ministers stop having their strings pulled Brussels, it'll never happen over here. Bradshaws half hearted attempt at banning pair trawling for Bass has proved just how much power we have over our own waters.

Still, very slowly, British anglers are getting organised. Ministers now recognise how much RSA is worth to the economy, they just lack the political will to do anything about it. Maybe things will change before it's too late, but I won't hold my breath.

Some Bass stuff here you might enjoy including a picture that indicates to me that it would be hard to find a bait that was 'too big' for these critters.
