I'm being adventurous and going after carp, tomorrow. Mad? - maybe, but the magazines are really pushing winter carping. I thought I'd try an in-line method feeder and hair-rig a boilie for the first time. My method mix is going to be based on Van Der Eynde 'special', but what else should I put in, that's readily available at low cost (eg: corn, breadcrumb etc)? Also, should I put a bit of my huge stock of Leeda Ultrabite in?

This may be a daft question to those in the know, but why has my new in-line method feeder got nine inches of plastic tube attached to it? Surely I don't thread the line through the whole lot!

Pangolin, I think you do thread your line through the whole lot and the idea is that it lays on the bottom and keps your line out of the way of the feeding fish.

Pangolin,
The actual reason for the plastic tube is to prevent tangles and yes the idea is to thread the line all the way through it. You don't need to though and can just remove it - you may or may not get more tangles.

Rob.
