just looked at me's web site,good effort by the lad."bread for trout" i nearly fell off me chair laughing,why arnt me + chesters on tv i think it would be a cracking programe.keep up the humour chesters + thanks for keeping myself laughing biggrin.gif

I've had some awesome trout on my local stretch of river using bread punch. I'm talking 3lb wild brownies and what a fight!!

Trout will definitely take a big lump of trotted flake, in fact if you find the right place and just hold it back really hard they almost hit it like a lure.

when I was a youngster i did a little poaching for trout .bread was a good bait as it stood out in the twilight,also it was cheap .

nothing wrong with bread for trout . . . infact a lot of Trout river anglers of the fly persuasion often complain when anglers use bread . . under the seed bait rules (fly, worm and minnow, artificial baits only)

nowt wrong with bread as a trout bait . . sometimes it is the only way to pick em off in the slacks with floating crust . .

but as general advice ? My input would have been. 12lb wonder wire, size 10 trebles, and small roach or smelts, and absolutely minimal restistance. Targeting to low doubles.
