Smug bas$%^&d - too right! Bet your only prenenting to ask for a recipe! Well done anyway. A good source of seafood recipes is http://seafoodrecipe.com/az/ListViewPages/17203040.asp but beaing an American site they don't know what turbot is - however with fish that size you would best cut them into thick steaks and cook as any white fish - halibut etc. Philip Diamond's Covent Garden Fish Book is brilliant - covers every likely species. Written by a fishmonger who fishes - not some poncy tv chef. His recipes for turbot and brill are a bit fancy, my advice would be to grill steaks with cheesy breadcrumb topping or oven bake with a good dob of butter and fresh herbs.
Looking forward to hearing how you caught them!!

Hi Salar and welcome to Anglers Net. There has not been too much support for the sea section but it seems to be getting better. Don't be shy in posting topics, there are lots of experienced and in experienced anglers on here and we all help each other when we can.
I checked out the web site and have a couple of recipes that I may try, Have lots of turbot so can afford to experiment.
Thanks for the info and again welcome.
What type of fishing do you do where are you from etc.
Oh by the way, next time I am in the UK I will be looking for Philip Diamonds cook book, can you give the ISBN number and publishers as I may find it on the internet.
Thanks

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the kind welcome. I came by the Phil Diamond book (ISBN 1-85626-063-1) in a rather bizarre way, so I don't know if its still available. Try Amazon. I bought a cottage from a drunken lecherous wheechair bound octagenerian called Jimmie who became a friend for the last few years of his life - he was mad about the sea and boats. When he finally popped off he left me the contents of his booze cupboard and his cookery books, including this one. I used to take him fresh fish and have a beer or two while he had a gin or six and listen to his stories. One good one was why his second wife left him - he sold their London flat and bought the Bridlington lifeboat to convert into a houseboat. Trouble is he only told her afterwards. Or so he said...
I keep my boat at Southsea, Hampshire and fish anywhere within range. I also enjoy fly fishing, especially in Ireland, and try and fit in some fishing when travelling abroad. (see posting on Denmark - can you help?)
But that's enough about me. I still think you are a smug bas%$£ 'cos I have NEVER caught a turbot!

Hi Salar,
with regards to the welcome, I am just sorry to see that no other regulars have extended the hand of friend ship. Most unusual. Don't mention sheep as the course anglers get a bit excited

Denmark, when are you going, I will see what info I have to hand or ask around. Next week, Ok?

Being smug YEAH, 2 pb's in one day but still never caught a Bass. FishingwidowGUR@aol.com sent me the pictures and after waiting for a lifetime (5 days)I can't open the bloody things.

Gotta go, all the best
