i was just wonderin what all you carpers think of baitboats. i have had a viper for over a year, and i have to admit i regret buying it because now i feel that there was no need because the waters that i fish are not particully large. however i believe the viper is a good baitboat which can help carpers in certain situations. anyway what do u guys an gals think bout baitboats tongue.gif

They look handy but I couldn't be bothered lugging one around.

I think that baitboats are a little excesive in most situations and i can recall fishing some lakes at kirton lyndsey last season when a carp man was using a baitboat to drop his baits out at 40 yards range - i presumed he could afford expensive gear but didnt have the water craft to do easy casts! as a pike/predator fisherman i would only consider using a bait boat on loughs and even then id rather be boatfishing than bank.

If I can't cast there, I won't fish there.
If I can cast there, I can manage an angry fish there. If I can't cast there, the fish is in no danger from me.

they look great fun, probably end up putting a bigger motor in, and never get any fishing done...

not only are you daft enough to buy a bait boat, you're daft enough to carry it all the way round a lake, what wrong with putting it in the lake, walking round, then whizzing back over to you?

silly boy
