hi to you all, apart from a few trips in a surf kayak last summer in portland harbour, im new to this game. having said that im an experienced angler,i,ve just about got my new kayak rigged and im cant wait to get out there.
i would appreciate any tips on marks and methods in and around portland.

Usually fish Portland myself around September time

Launching at Castletown public slipway on the ebb paddling out through the southern entrance past the H.M.S. Hood and into Balaclava bay or on to Grove Point for Conger at night on the neap tides thumbs.gif

have you done much around gosport/pompey harbour. i get up there now and then some of the creeks look like they could be worth a try.

I've launched at Browndown quite a few times fished Sturbridge Shoal and Ryde Middle along with a few marks around the Stokes Bay area-----had a 6lb odd Cod there a couple of years ago and not too far offshore thumbs.gif

I don't tend to fish harbours much,just a bit in winter or when it is too rough to go out to sea
