If they have rivers (tidal or normal), there will be fish.

Where there are fish, some will be preds.

Preds tend to like lures.

Take the lure rod(s).

Jeep Im not so sure there is any freshwater fishing on the isle of wight? i'm not positive though.Wouldnt have thought the sea fishing would have been suitable for lures at this time of year either.

Hope fully Im wrong and some one can point you in the right direction.

All I can remember from earlier trips to Whitecliffe Bay (for the bass)is that the River Yar has a few freshwater fish but not enough to get excited about. There's a few small farm ponds and I think a ressie somwhere, one of which has pike..can't remember which one. If you take lure rods then long casting to the Hampshire Avon might be the best bet. Just make sure the ferry doesnt run over your line biggrin.gif

Try for the Mullet (still in the Harbours) and now is flattie season on the coast.
Quite a few Whitting off the beaches as well.
There is some coarse fishing on the Island, I'm not too sure of where and what though!
