Dear Sir

Complaint regarding use of set lines

I can confirm that on 17 February 2004, a number of set lines and a gaff were handed to the Environment Agency, having been taken from a gentlemen using them on the River Old Nene near Whittlesey.

The use of such implements for fishing is illegal under Section 1 of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975.

The Agency is still investigating the alleged offence.

I am sorry that we cannot provide more detail at this stage, but I hope you will appreciate that we cannot release details of this or other cases into the public domain until the investigation is complete, as to do so may jeopardise the outcome.

Yours sincerely

Paul WaLDROn
Environment Manager

A good opportunity to respond!! Mine is already on its way. It may not do any good by itself, but the bigger the number the better.

But what about the comeback on what canfield has posted legally he can be taken to court. and as the Ea is big buisiness he wouldnt stand a chance.
Its in the public domain now.

I know gaffs etc are wrong but youve got to look after number one.

You can always edit your text Monkeyboy! Just hit the pen on paper logo top right above your posting.

I'm guessing that you are concerned that Cranfield was wrong to post a communication that was addressed to him as an individual. By its very nature it was not a private letter.
