...but not this week's! And I didn't buy last weeks. Can anybody have a look in last week's and possibly scan it and put it on here for me? It's in the Top Rod bit of the Where to Fish section.

It will have a picture of me and narrative about a 13lb carp caught on the Kennet and Avon canal, using Source boilies and bed of pellets.

If anybody could do so I would be very pleased. I only realised I was in it when I received my spool of line and my 'Top Rod'cap, a stylish piece of headwear that I look totally dashing in!!!

A friend has told me I am not in the one from 26th July. I have 19th one, and this week's and I'm not in there either.

Strange! Anybody know how long it takes for Cap and line to get to you after publication?

Probably best to phone them. They seem like nice people, so will probably do what they can to help smile.gif

If it's anything like a rod and reel I was waiting for, don't exactly plan any trips for the next few months. biggrin.gif

And as for payment for a photo, well.... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I think its not unusual for the angling press to publish a picture of a guy in a t shirt with leaves on the trees holding a pb in the jan issue sad.gif

I am not actually sure if it is the anglers submitting the pics out of season to try get a reward or the mags trying to fill space. But if you dont believe me look clsely at the pics of ppl paying particular attention to the background. There seems to be far more out of season pics in any section that includes a prize for submitting a photo.

This really is a pet hate of mine and the reason I no longer buy any fishing mag because I feel the info is so out of date in most cases as to be useless.

Dave

My ONLY claim to fishing fame is having a rig published in the AM. My 'mystery prize' took around 6 months to arrive and that was after prompting. Turned out to be a small Richworth bait spray. Think I got 20p for it at a car boot sale rolleyes.gif
