There are a few things I'm looking forward to at Timsbury.....

1. Budgie's demonstration on how to correctly mount a 2lb Grayling livebait.

2. Leon falling in (traditional at a fish-in).

3. Alan Roe saying, "Here, give me that rod, I'll show you what I mean," and landing a specimen fish (traditional at a fish-in).

4. Ferret taking the pee every time I bump into him (traditional at a fish-in).

5. Fluking a half decent fish myself (traditional at a fish-in).

More to follow, I feel biggrin.gif

Stepping back into Ardingly resevoir to nurse Elton's pike back to recovery probably wasn't a good idea!

But I'm starting to wisen up.

'I think it's off' said Elton as his tight line followed the path taken by the perch at Barton Court into the waterside reeds.

Only thing was to scramble down the slippery bank to have a look, and to rescue the perch with my landing net.

That water looked awfully deep as I leaned forward poking the net into the weed bed; and the wetting I had gotten for that pike at Ardingly sprang into mind.

Touch and go, but the perch was in the net, and I was dry sad.gif

So just be warned, next time that Elton seems to be having a problem, and there's deep water nearby.

Walk away!

Tight Lines - leon

Yep, showers and stiff cold breeze laid on.

Falling trees unlikely though (it won't seem the same without that creaking and crashing!)

Good luck to all.
Wish I was coming.
I will attend a fish in one day to show off all my skills and knowledge I have given and gained on AN - Then blank!!!!!!!!!!!, trip over my gear breaking it in the process and tumble down the bank into the drink.

"3. Alan Roe saying, "Here, give me that rod, I'll show you what I mean," and landing a specimen fish (traditional at a fish-in)."

I fell victim to this last time - although it wasn't exactly a specimen

Now that has peeeeed me off.
If I had known a few days ago I could of made it.
Now I have been roped into going out on behalf of the company tonight (free beer, but I would prefer fishing).
Tomorrow I am looking after the kids while the other half goes shopping!!!!!!!!!

Next time we will have to come to some sort of arragment elton.

Never caught a grayling and not much chance on the east coast!!!!!!!!
