Went out for an overnighter last night. Got to the lake, about 30 acres, at 8.30pm, in the rain, and just enough time to get sorted. Try doing up a few PVA`s bags in the rain, even under the brolly!
Constant rain, the odd bleep. At 11pm had a look see at the rods only to see no platform/walkway left!!! Just a sheet of silvery water. The walkway was about 30 feet long to a double platform. Disappeared. You`re on your own. On with light and down the walkway, which is about a foot under water at this stage, to top of boots. Rising steadily by the minute. Had to, gingerly old boy, retrieve rods, L.net had floated off a bit, lucky to get it. Swingers were submerged. I don`t mind tackling down, but not at 11pm in a storm, on yer todd.
Have you experienced rapid rises of water like this? What would have happened if I`d dozed off? Do bedchairs with anglers float off to the middle of the lake?

bad news all round "old bean". Lets hope that the rains cease soon and we have a receding water level in time for next friday. If it stays warm like this we should get among the tinca's.
Remember a week-ender on G'molystown 4 years ago.Sat all night and watched it rise, rapidly, very rapidly.Eventually gave up, and slept in the car.Next morning, the top of the buzzers were just about visible.."I hate rain,I do!!!!!!"
