Driving along a road I don't often use, between Stony Stratford and Buckingham, I caught sight of a large lake, on my left. Does anyone know if its a day-ticket fishery or a syndicate water or what?

Was it near some warehouses?
There are some carp puddles near Stoney Stratford that are owned my Milton Keynes Angling association.

Guys,

Is this any help?
................

Foxcote Reservoir. Sunday 16 June – 31October. Trout Fishing

The town, bottom-left, is Buckingham, and the "A" road, bottom right, is the A422 which incidentally follows the course of the Gt Ouse

Thanks, DG. The water I saw was definitely the one in the bottom right corner of your map, marked 'nature reserve': I expect it probably isn't a fishery: shame, because it looked very inviting!

Call MKAA, they will know. Or try one of the local tackle shops - there must be one in Buckingham - if not try MK or Bletchley (where there def is one)
Let me know if you can fish it - I'll join you !!

Dear Pangolin,

I know the water you mention. But for the moment, I can't for the life of me remember its damned name!! Perhaps it will come back whilst I type as it’s on the tip of my tongue.

Anyway, I "think" it’s a Buckingham AC water and it’s definitely the same club that control the stretch of river close by. Do you remember the big perch that were being caught from the Gt Ouse not so long ago? Well that’s the stretch. AND: Some of those huge perch as being claimed came from the Great Ouse, actually came from a syndicate on the Padbury Brook which runs into the Gt Ouse behind your still water.

Anyway, back to the water. It is run like a syndicate within the club that control it,.....

HYDE LANE!!! Just remembered its name!!!

Start again;

Anyway, back to the water. It is run like a syndicate within the club that control it. And the syndicate is run by a famous (well famous to me) carp angler. I might be right when I say syndicate membership deals with the night fishing and any club member can fish it in the day, but I may be wrong. (I'll remember the guys name in a minute) Baz Griffiths (spelling?) I "think" it is.

Anyway. The lake is stuffed with carp and crayfish (signals) unfortunately. ( the river behind is also stuffed with crays as well) I think I'm right in saying that there are two perhaps three 40lb pluses in the lake. Car parking is excellent and the bailiffing force is also extremely good.

Incidentally, I spoke to a bailiff down there when all the big perch were coming out and he told me those sized fish came out regularly to match anglers!!!

Hows that then Pangolin? Not bad for a barbel angler who only fishes the Trent eh. Then again I could be completely wrong!!

Regards,

Lee.

I have lived of the said A422 for 16 years. I have never heard of the water in question. There is obviously the lake that was part of the Kingfisher complex before it went bust which has been both coarse and trout over the years.

What really worries me is I have been driving down past Buckingham for nearly all these years on route to all and sundry places and have never even noticed the said lake

Cheers
