I have recently been polishing my spoons and spinners, a job long overdue, and wondered what sort of polish is best to keep the nickel and brassware gleaming?

I usually use 'duraglit' but does the lingering smell put fish off, what do you think?

Duraglit's fine. So is Goddard's Long Term Silver polish. I seem to catch OK so I don't think the smell of the polish is a problem. They may even like it, like WD 40

But is WD40 good for pike? Not to be taken internally, it says so on the can!

Duraglit is fine, if you polish it all off.

Thanks fellas, and to think I was worried about the effects of metal polish, (I wouldn't dream of introducing WD40 into the water).

I always remove every trace of duraglit from the metal and then try to disguise the residual smell, from my wife who can't stand the stuff.

Try polishing your lures and then give them a coating of clear spray paint. Saves polishing them next time out and they really take on an extra shine.
