My fishing video collection is pretty poor: nobody, it seems, can get the right balance between giving details of how to set up a successful rig and the sheer excitement of catching fish. Matt Hayes 'the Tench' probably gets closest, but a lot of the others are a waste of time and money. Before buying anything new, I just thought I'd cast around for a few recommendations...

If you've not already got it, I'd suggest A passion for angling, not much instruction, but the atmosphere an excitment literally leaks out of the TV !

In-Fisherman's Flyfishing for Pike is brillient, even if you never chuck a fly! Friendly Fisherman sells them in the UK and their prices are legendary!!

The Primeval Pike with Andy Nicholson is also worth getting, if you can. See what Amazon has.

Tales from the Riverbank, pike & trout is pretty good. Apart from the shots of some short-house berk mishandling a 30 plusser!

How to catch Bigger Pike by Paul Gustafson is pretty good as a how to type tape.

Ive got several of the IN-Fisherman tapes and they are all good.It was the pike on fly one that made me give it a go.As Peter says you can now get them in UK format. We used to club together ,buy one direct from IF and then get them transfered.
If you have seen most of the UK vidios, and they are much the same, then have a look at the US market. The Billy Tate big game fly fishing vids are truely insperational, even if his accent does get on your tits!

The most dissapointing ones I ever watched were ******** two Russian ones. When he first got back from his initial visit Kev and If I remember right Keith Lambert gave a brilliant impromptu slide show at a CCG get together.Once the vids came out I rushed to get them but they just didnt come up the same.

Although not as profesional looking as a lot of vidios, I think that Guy and Stuart's "Up Close and Personal" vidios are a very enjoyable watch for any barbel anglers.
I think that it is a good blend of tech. tactics and visual delights of fish feeding.
Maybe with a touch of commersialism thrown in, but still well worth owning.
