Has any one tried any of the chair mates that go across your bedchair? Have heared that they can damage your bedchair? or some think that they make you sit to high and you end up smacking your head on the roof of your bivvy. Also im a large lad any idea how sturdy they are? Cheers all |

I made some thing similar to go on my bedchair over 20 years ago.Ideal when you are forced to be in your bivvy (rain etc) but dont want to lay down!
Alot of the reason I made one was that Im over 20stone so sitting on the edge of mybed would inevitabley bend and damage it. Mine is simply a plank of wood with two pieces of baton attached one at either end. This sits across the bed over both frames. For comfort I just put my pillow on it.Fits into my sling no problem allthough my mate puts his one in his bedchair bag. The height isnt a problem for me as I use an origonal Fox Bivvy Bed and these are quite low.Although If you can sit ok on your bedchair then you will be ok with this design as it only puts you a few inchs higher. Like a lot of stuff us anglers make over the years I should have patented it! |
