Can anyone here give me ideas for where to fish in North Lincolnshire.
We moved to Brigg late last year, so getting the house in order has taken preference, but I want to get some fishing in when the new season starts. I lived in South Ferriby as a kid, so am familiar with the Ancholme, but would like to try other venues around here that provide good quality mixed coarse fishing. I'm not averse to the odd carp session, but prefer to have chance of a bit of allsorts. All ideas gratefully received. Cheers Wag [ 27. There is a nice pond at moortown Wag thats only £4 a day and is full of crucians, Tench and carp.
Its not the pond behind the pub at moortown at the level crossing but the one before it or after it depending on which way you come. Also kingfisher lodge at Hibaldstowe is a good mixed fishery too. Apart from the Ancholme im not too sure of any other river/canal fishing in the area. I too am into motorcycle racing but only as a spectator and often go to cadwell and olivers mount. [ 27. Cheers for the suggestions Tyke, I'll give Moortown a try.
Kingfisher Lodge is only ten minutes away so I'll pop down there and do a recce - could be just the job. I'm going to Oulton Park for the British Superbikes this weekend, so I hope the weather brightens up a bit. I'm only a spectator as well now, too old/scared/slow for much else. We'll be going to Croft and Cadwell also later in the year - can't beat the sights sounds and smells of bike racing - makes Formula 1 look tame. -------------------- Where's the 'ANY' key?

I hope Haslam wins and Haydon gets a podium.
Im sick of the Hondas winning all the time. If you discover any other good places to fish let me know Wag. |

Have you thought about joining a club? There a few around Scunthorpe such as:
Iron And Steel Angling Club (limited to 100 members) Has a large mixed lake mainly tench and rudd at Thealby a stretch on the tidal trent and maybe getting another lake keeping that one secret for now . It costs just over £20 a year to join meetings first wednesday of every month at Brumby & Frodingham working mens club, holds matches throughout the year(entirely optional)A great freindly atmosphere. if your interested pm me. Well now ive plugged my club here's another Scunthorpe police club alternatively if u get a Scunthorpe And District Angling Association Book you have the ancholme, Stainforth & Keadby canal, several streches on the trent and a few more day ticket waters: Lindolme lakes sandtoft/belton area around a fiver a day (You cant fail to catch here mostly small carp) Willow springs, messingham similar to above Theres also 2 very Idyllic ponds if you dont mind a walk near scawby just over the motorway bridge past scawby crossroads on the left though not sure who has the fishing rights Wouldnt mind having a go there again myself Hope this helped/confused (delete where applicable) -------------------- Is it stiiiil close season???

Hi NetFull,
All your suggestions sound like good ones, so I'll be taking you up on them. I'll PM you As soon as I get organised. Tyke 'I hope Haslam wins and Haydon gets a podium.' you can pick my lottery numbers for next week - Haslam gets the win (just) Haydon just off the podium, but two great rides - Harris was good too - pity about the rain, but it made the racing interesting. -------------------- Where's the 'ANY' key?
