Hi team,Snatcher reporting in from Sandhead Internet Cafe (its actually the church hall and they have 4 pcs available on a Tues and a Thurs 11.00 till 13.00. - Unless there is a funeral service on !!!)

Got taken to a new shore mark on the west side of the Mull yesterday. My guide was George,a guy who has just moved his van onto the Clash site.

Well according to the forcast the wind was supposed to be easterly 10mph. As usual they were well off the mark and it was quite gusty at this mark. I am not too keen on rock climbing/scrambling and this one was just on my limit huh.gif

Set up with a green Snatcher sandeel and started getting knocks straight away. My first fish in was a pollack about 1lb. Second fish in was another pollack about the 3 lb mark.

George in the meanwhile was float fishing mackerel strip and he was doing nowt.We only had about an hour on the mark as George had to run an errand into Stranraer.
After getting 6 pollack to three pound on my lure decided to try float fished limpet for the wrasse. Three casts and three more pollack, all about the 2lb mark.

George in the meanwhile got 2 pollack on the float and had a really big pollack about the 5/6 lb mark follow in the mackerel strip and swirl away on the surface at the very last moment.

All in all had a really good first pollack session of the season. No photos as for one I had forgotten my camara and two there is no facility here for attaching them.

Met up with "Toonfireman" for the first time in the beer garden of the Tigh Na Mara on Tues afternoon which was nice. He invited me to fish in his boat one day so will try and sort it for next week as he is out most days.

Snatcher signing off, will post up more reports when I can. No Internet access on the Clash site at the mo for my laptopbut hoping to get that sorted.

Good report Snatcher, nice to see you are catching some fish. Any plans for a "Lad's Week" on the Mull this year considering that you have a very special engagement in Australia later in the year?

Hi Tom no plans for a lads week this year as such but plenty of friends will be visiting and fishing with me. To be honest I am now having a lads summer and plan to fish most days. smile.gif . My son Chris is coming over to visit us on the 22nd for a long weekend. We intend to join up with the Tack4s and have a few fishing sorties.

Off pollack fishing again this afternoon to the end of the Mull and tope fishing from the boat tomorrow. No facilities for downloading pictures from here but hopefully Chris will sort out internet access on the Clash site when he comes over .

Are you planning to come over this year Tom? Would be nice to meet up again smile.gif Catch ya later

John

Hi John, now that you have virtually taken up residence in Drummore I look forward to some great catch reports from you ( with or without pictures.) I shall definitely be over this summer.

Yes I will be here Andy thumbs.gif

Went to a new shore mark for me at the end of the Mull last Tuesday - Lagvag !!! a touch on the steep side for an old geezer like me but I made it down. Fished with George again and all we managed were small pollack on spinners ,it is still a bit early in the season really. Also managed to get one mackerel. In two weeks time it will be a mackerel every cast.

Went out in the boat last Wednesday from Sandhead. I fished with Tom in his boat Joshua. The plan was to try for tope but we just could not get enough mackerel for the rubby dubby schmoll.gif

We managed 5 mackerel between us all day and they tempted nothing but doggies for us. I even managed to boat two doggies on one hook - beat that if you can rolleyes.gif The craic was good though and we had an enjoyable day.

Off fishing the mull again tonight with tack4 - I am sure a report will follow.

Snatcher signing off thumbs.gif
