Mine was good at first, very free-running but after a couple of years I had problems with the spool fouling on the plate, it's put me off using it as it seems hit & miss when it's going to play up.
Others seem to really like them though, hth, Jim. |

Think new ones cost around 65 mark but not sure.
I would recomend the new Okuma aventas. The more expensive bronze coloured one has two bearings and is very very smooth. It is selling at 90.00 but have a look on ebay Mine cost me 64.00 the silver one has no bearings and costs 70.00 -------------------- RUDD

Absolutely nice reels for the money, but the Aventa VT1002 if you can get it for around £65 from Ebay, is an even better bet. If you do go for a Leeds make sure its the one with a clickstop. The cheaper Leeds has none and it can be a bit of a disadvantage.

QUOTE Graham X: Trotting a stick on my bit of river.Hey ferret? What sort of fishing do you want to use a pin for? The reason I asked about the Leeds is cos I had just bought one on Ebay for £23.71 and was hoping I got a bargain. Lots like I may have. |

the leeds reels are under rated. The 1 i have has a set of ball races and it spins really freely, out spinning a certain other make costing over £100 by a fair bit...(about 30 seconds longer spin). Doesn't have a ratchet , the only drawback. Had mine about 8 - 10 yrs now , no problems. Tight lines.
