Hi I'm looking for an ABU Suveran 13' match rod in good nick! Failing that what else have you got of similar quality Thanks Dave Dave, got an ABU Ultra-Cast here?? Any good?? Same stable as the suveran in fact it came in as the suveran I wanted went out of production. I got mine direct from a trade day and got two as someone else wanted one but he never took it. I paid £65 for it and you can have it for that which is just under half the retail price was. I actually paid a LOT more than the ticket price at the show, but had to do this to get the rods. ONLY possible problem may be shipping it to you as not sure about shipping of long items!! OR possibly ask someone to bring it over and post?? Let me know please. Rod is described as a 13ft POWER action taking lines 2 to 8lb. Colour is a Burgundy colour with same colour whippings. -------------------- Chris Goddard

Thanks Chris but the Power bit suggests it's for carp commercials and I want a light tippy rod for trotting for Roach and Grayling Thanks anyway Dave -------------------- Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Thanks Chris but the Power bit suggests it's for carp commercials and I want a light tippy rod for trotting for Roach and Grayling Thanks anyway Dave Dave, with all due respect then a Suveran is NOT the rod you want?? I would have gone for something like an OLD Daiwa Whisker or one of the Normark stable?? The suveran IS an out and OUT Power rod capable of stopping anything BUT the largest Carp. But you know your own mind. I'll ask around as a good feind in Ireland gets 90% of Pure Fishings cast offs! You may be right Chris, It's all a bit new to me and I'm going on the write ups I've found. So, anyone got a Normark for 50 quid -------------------- Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

I think i may have mention this to you before, but if you want a good value rod for trotting that has a fast action with good line pick up then go for the Maver Italica 14ft, you can see these on e-bay should be around £35.00 to £45.00 in good condition. They cost about £90.00 new, i got mine from Chris about 2 years ago and its been a cracking good rod for my River trotting.
The Maver Italica match rod has a fantastic action and hidden reserves of power when a specimen fish is hooked. The rod is manufactured from slim extremely light high modulus carbon. It is fitted throughout with single leg guides. Features - EVA twist grip reel fitting - SIC single leg guides throughout - Put over joints - EVA and cork handle - Supplied in 3 divisioned rod bag - Tip/through action Details Maver Italica Float rod A905 Length - 14ft Weight - 223g Max. casting weight - 20g Recommended line rating - 3lb to 6lb Here's a new 13ft. Here's a Suveran 13ft second hand on the MD's site. You will have to register on the site to contact him direct. Hi Richard Would you believe there are no Italicas on Ebay at the moment, at least not the 14' I have contacted the guy on MD about the Suveran but would really like a longer rod. I could get a leeda GXT 15' float rod for 30 quid and there are a couple of 14' rods I am watching on ebay but I don't know anything about them. Shakespeare Odessa Gold and Shimano Sensilite I would still like to build my own Harrison GTI 15' eventually so I don't want to spend a fortune on a rod at the moment. Thanks for the advice Dave -------------------- Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.
