Are power handles necessary for 6501's?
If so, which one do you recommend and from where? -------------------- "I envy not him that eats better meat than I do, nor him that is richer, or that wears better clothes than I do. I envy nobody but him, and him only, that catches more fish than I do"

They're never necessary but if you have big hands then they can help, particularly if you're winding down on very big cranks and jerks with lots of water resistance. My 6600LDs have power handles and I've got used to them. My D5s dont and I've got used to them too. So its six of one and half a dozen of the other with the big ABUs. I put power handles on my scorpions and they are a big big improvement, but then the original handles were made for little nippon fingers. Best way round it is to try one. If it doesnt work for you then sell it on.
Not sure who stocks them in the UK, I'm sure Lumby will know. Otherwise its http://www.heartlandtackleservice.com (pretty sure he stocks them, although they're not on his website) http://www.1stopfishingshop.com/AmbassadeurHandles.html -------------------- 'I've got a mind like a steel wassitsname'

Bloody hell Dave, that's not so much a 'selection'...they seem to have cornered the market. I can get you one of those sexy shimano handles with a genuine Brundall mammoth bone handle if you like. -------------------- 'I've got a mind like a steel wassitsname'
