We have a very active "windows help" forum at www.windowsbbs.com and a few months ago, one of the Microsoft Product Support guys joined to offer some expertise in his spare time.

Ben McDonald is one of the rare people who can take those strange dump files you get with a blue screen of death on NT systems, run them through an analyzer, and diagnose the exact problem.

Bless Googles' pea picking little heart, folks are now able to do searches and find out that we can solve these nastys for them so we are being bombarded. Ben needs help and there just isn't any to be had.

I spoke to him at some length yesterday and he is perfectly willing to train one or two others in doing what he does but none of the forum regulars have the needed background to get up to speed in any reasonable period of time.

Bottom line, if you are interested and willing to work with Ben, you can add a major goody to your list of salable skills. We'd only ask that in return you spent some time dealing with the requests for help that come in to the forum.

Considering the number of BSOD issues with servers and the very small number of people who can decipher them, this should be a thing that could seriously increase the amount of money you stand to make.

Feel free to take a look on the forum and especially in the Win2000 and Win Server sections to see what sort of issues are floating in. Any topic that has [DUMP] in the title is a BSOD issue as are some others.
