The knot is the same structure as the common or garden bowline, as tied by clever boy scouts, although the methodology differs. It is tied using a net needle and a guage. If no one posts you a diagram on the forum then let me know your address & I'll photostat and post you a hard copy. Altetnatively nip down to your local library and ask if you can borrow 'the Ashley Book Of Knots' and all will be revealed, and you could well have a new hobby.
The simplest solution is to buy a new knotless net, you'll even be legal! You might even get the new must-have kitemark that way. Bit of an old skinflint using tatty old gear -------------------- PETER

QUOTE Chris Plumb: As a young kid I worked in my uncle's net store at weekends as a 'beatster' (net maker / repairer), for pocket money. This site any use? Chris As a teenager we longshored for herring. A seal in the net could have meant many hours of repair work. I go along with the excellent instructions on net making, spot on, can't beat them, as clear as any I've seen. I'd suggest that you apply those instructions to a net repair, rather than the instructions posted specifically for net repairs, especially if you want match the net surrounding the damage. The instructions on repair are not as I have ever seen it done although I don't doubt that it is an efective, easy and practical method. -------------------- PETER

Bruno, Rumour has it that Chesters One never catches anything that warrents a net!
Since his net is going on the wall perhaps it will be okay for wall-eye -------------------- PETER

QUOTE Bruno Broughton: Well that's OK then chesters1. Just make sure you only use knotless knots.
