Do you ever use bubble floats when your Carp fishing? I never used to. I used to think What a load of rubbish? But after i tried them i think they're the best thing for Carp fishing. I always use one now. biggrin.gif tongue.gif

I prefer other controlers such as the ESP ones. Bubble floats are harder to strike with than the traditional shape of Drennan or ESP controlers.

hello....

i use a bubble float for close in work because its easy to spot, and because of its shape helps to self hook the fish.
For long range stuff i use a converted gardener controller,or a yellow kinder egg filled with water, bright and it casts very well

Hi Nathan,

I used to use bubble floats in the 50's, half full of water to give casting weight. I fished them down-wind, with a large lob on the hook, suspended about 1 foot below and used this method to present my lob along reed beds or under bushes on the far bank of my water. I used to get some great perch and sometimes Tench. I guess you could use the method for carp also. If you have it correctly set, the fish ususally hook themselves so you do not need to strike.

I have used this mnethod many times since and always carry a selection of bubble floats - they can outfish all modern controllers if used in the right situation.

Brian

I don't often fish for Carp, but if I do and I am using floaters I use a clear bubble float half full with water,[ less likely to spook as it looks just like a bubble] which gives your floater more stability and of course further casting distance.
